Saturday Mornings

Saturday mornings have become such a blessing to me. I wake up at 6:30 before the rest of my family is up. Spend time with God reading my Bible and praying, write out a few thoughts that are on my mind, and then start breakfast for everyone. By the time my hubby and kids are up, breakfast is on the table and we're sitting around eating and discussing our thoughts for the day.

I tend to clean the kitchen as I cook, so once we're done eating, the dishes are washed and we're ready to face whatever adventure the day brings. My family starts the day feeling loved and cared for and I've had time to reflect in my thoughts and dwell with the Lord. I cannot stress enough, what a change this has brought about for our household. From complete and utter chaos, arguing, and downright bad attitudes to peace, calm, and joy.

This routine has sprung forth organically but I know that my time spent with God, reading, reflecting, and listening to this guidance is what ultimately brought about this change. The change has started with me. I realized that I cannot expect of my family what I cannot provide for myself. As a stay-at-home-mama, I create the atmosphere and set the tone. I choose peace, calm, and joy. I choose to encompass our home in the presence of God and allow him to use me for his Will in the every day tasks that most find tedious. That is where I think God has brought about my purpose and that is where I am choosing to dwell and thrive in this season.

I pray that your season is full of peace, calm, and joy; but dear friend, remember this, God uses those times of strife and troubles to prune and redefine us. It is after those times that we most often truly appreciate the calm. Lean in and listen to his guidance and watch as his good grace is poured on you abundantly.

Bountiful Blessing and Glorious Grace Upon You!
