Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare exists in our everyday interactions and is the ultimate threat to our redemption.
In the past year, I have battled many spiritual wars. Sickness; greed; jealousy; and division. But, it wasn't until this year that I actually saw these battles for what they really are. You see, the world wills us to believe that we are each other's enemies. The battle is against one another. Those feelings of envy, jealousy, hurt, betrayal; those feelings are feelings stirred up by one another out of selfishness and for self. However, while true, we are the vessel, the reality is, these feelings are produced from the fruit of sin.
"Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkunness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." - Galatians 5:19-21

Satan's goal is to block the advancement of God's great Kingdom. And quite honestly, if we look around us, we see that he has gained success. People are openly mocking God and Jesus; committing sexual immorality and normalizing it; being sexually impure; idolizing not only different gods but money, technology, work, family; divisions are growing rapidly and drunkenness is a status symbol. Satan knows "those who do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God." Satan knows the Bible, Satan fears God and those who follow him. It's in that spiritual battle that divide us that Satan tries to gain his threshold. If we see the battle as a battle against one another and not against the true enemy, Satan has placed his foot as a wedge and the door has been opened enough that a sly, slithering, evil can creep its way in.
So, sweet friends, let us choose to see God's light in the world of darkness. To be able to see what Satan is really doing and to discern the good from the bad. The hate the sin dwelling behind the person, not to hate the person who needs our love. Let us be the fruit of the Spirit and not of sin.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23
Bountiful Blessings and Glorious Grace upon you!
